Ensuring Access to Comprehensive Health-Care and Information Services

A Commitment to Student Safety
At IIUM, an international award-winning institution for sustainability, we prioritise the physical health and safety of our community. To ensure international students can concentrate on their studies without worry, a compulsory Etiqa Takaful Group Medical/Insurance Plan is provided, specifically tailor-made based on the specifications of the Ministry of Education Malaysia.

Digital Health Information and Management
We provide students with modern tools to access healthcare information and manage their benefits efficiently:

1. PM Care App: Students can download this mobile application to monitor their healthcare benefits, track claim statuses, and view Guarantee Letter (GL) updates.
2. Online Medical Portal: This serves as a primary source of reference for general guidelines and information related to student medical coverage.
3. Cardless Hospital Admission: To simplify access to physical healthcare, students no longer require a physical medical card. By presenting a passport or iKad at a hospital, the facility can perform digital verification to process Guarantee Letter requests.

Comprehensive Physical Health Services
The medical plan covers a wide range of physical health-care needs, including:

1. Panel Hospitals Nationwide: Access to a vast network of hospitals across Malaysia for specialised care.
2. 24-Hour Emergency Support: A dedicated 24-hour PM Care hotline is available for emergency cases and hopital admission or discharge assistance.
3. Outpatient and Specialist Care: Support for outpatient matters and consultations, provided that claims are submitted within six months of the service.

On-Campus Information & Education Services
For students seeking direct education or information regarding their healthcare rights and coverage, dedicated support is available:

1. Physical Agency Office: Located at the Central Complex (Ground Floor) behind the Main Auditorium on the Gombak campus, providing face-to-face consultations.
2. Instant Support: Real-time information and assistance are available via dedicated WhatsApp channels and email for general inquiries or coverage clarifications.
3. Nomination and Policy Education: Guidance is provided on filling out nomination forms and understanding the standard policy terms, conditions, and exclusions to ensure students are fully informed about their coverage.
